Vikky Wilkes is an independent documentary photographer based in Canberra, Australia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University in 1998 and specialises in portraiture and documentary projects.

Vikky's work is concerned with the natural world and our relationship with it. Themes in her work include the evocation of time and place, and the ways in which landscape, travel and history are reflected in our personal and collective memories. Ongoing themes include pre-adolescence; childhood memories; and the tensions between childhood innocence and the complex reality of developing personalities.

Her work has been selected for the National Photographic Portrait Prize (NPG Canberra), the Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award, the Olive Cotton Award among others. She has exhibited nationally and overseas.
